Lord Byron (1788-1824) has long been lauded as England's greatest poet. Prominent during the "romantic" period - he rose to fame in regency London. And later as a bon vivant roaming much of Europe. He is recognized for not only his prose but for also being a devastatingly handsome man.
This diminutive bust is cast of some metal alloy which is often called "shelter". With an applied bronze finish. Unmarked, we assume this piece was created sometime in the early 20th century. Measures 6" high x 3.75" wide x 1.75" deep.
In very good antique condition. Structurally sound with no cracks, chips, dents or damage of note. Finish has some areas of loss due to rubbing. Along with subtle pitting commensurate with age/use. See photos for details.
