Classic antique Burmese (Myanmar) lacquer "tithing" tower. This vessel consists of six layers of platforms and bowls formed out of bamboo and then covered in multiple layers of lacquer. Families filled it with fruits, food, grains, rice and other edible offerings which were left on the altar for the Monks to consume.
Measures 18,5" diameter x 15.5" high.
In excellent antique condition. Structural sound with no cracks, breaks, or holes. There are some areas of wear and slight edge damage commensurate with age and use. See photos for details.
