First introduced in the 1930's - the Aynsley fine bone china "Orchard Fruit Gold" pattern has long been considered their finest. Highly collected - four plates feature a design with a peach, plums, berries, wild grass, leaves, and filberts. The four others display a pair of peaches, gooseberries, and grapes. All in a range of reds, yellow, violet, blue, green, and brown. Over a mottled beige background. Encircled by a gold rim.
A graduation gift in the early 1970's - this set of eight appetizer or "pie" or bread and bread & butter plates appear to have never been used. All feature hand-painted embellishment over a base transfer pattern with the signature of Doris Jones. An Aynsley artist who was active 1938 - 1968. Hand marked on the reverse with the pattern number "793 L D". Visit our shop for several other items from this beloved pattern including dinner plates, luncheon/salad plates, tea cups & saucers, and matching creamer/open sugar.
Each plate measures 6.25" diameter x .75" high.
All eight are in excellent - immaculate condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks, paint or gilt loss.
