Woven in the early years of the twentieth century by villagers living in the mountainous region near Persia's oldest city - Hamedan. Each village has long maintained designs that are unique to them alone.
This intricate design features a central medallion encircled by roses. All in a range of pink, rose, and blue hues. Surrounded by a border of roses against a black ground. Twelve hand-tied knots run a line per inch for a total of 144 knots per square inch
Measures 50" wide x 79" Long (4'1" x 6'6").
Overall condition is very good antique. Including minor surface wear, short fringe, and some binding wear. All commensurate with antique age and use. Note: This unique rug was in a home with pets prior and has not been cleaned. See photos for details.
