19th Century hand painted Chinese lacquer bamboo box . Decorated in the style of the Shanxi province with flowers and double happiness symbol. Originally created to store hats - it is perfectly sized to store whatever treasure out of sight. Measures 12" diameter x 13.25" high. In very good antique condition. Paint/Lacquer has various marks and "dings" commensurate with antique age and years of use. Fitted lid top surface appears to have been refinished at some point.
